Welcome
I’m Adam Erhart. I make pottery by hand on Vancouver Island — shaped by the fog, forests, and sea.
Each piece is made one at a time in my small studio. I create work that is simple, functional, and grounded — objects meant to be used, held, and lived with.
From everyday mugs to statement pieces, my pottery reflects a respect for craftsmanship, material, and form. These are pieces built for daily use — quiet companions to the moments that matter.

Pottery for Everyday Rituals
Bring intention and beauty to the objects you use most.
I believe the best pottery isn’t kept behind glass — it’s used daily.
A mug that fits your hand. A bowl passed around the table. A vessel that becomes part of your rhythm and space.
Every piece I make is designed to be functional and grounded — built for the rituals that matter: morning coffee, shared meals, quiet moments.
These are objects meant to be used, held, and lived with — to bring a sense of presence to the everyday.

The Process
Shaped by Hand. Rooted in Place.
Each piece is wheel-thrown or hand-built in small batches, inspired by the fog, forests, and raw beauty of the West Coast.
In a world driven by speed, pottery asks for patience.
Each piece begins as raw clay — shaped slowly on the wheel or built by hand. I work in small batches, giving each form the time and attention it deserves.
Texture, weight, balance — every detail matters. The rhythm of the wheel, the firing of the kiln — each step leaves its mark.
My work is rooted in the landscapes of Vancouver Island: shifting tides, weathered driftwood, dense forests, and the quiet presence of the coast. These influences live in every piece I make.
Where Craft Meets the Everyday

The Studio
I make each piece in a quiet studio on Vancouver Island, where fog meets forest and sea.
It’s a space built for focus and craft — where clay, wheel, and kiln come together one piece at a time.

Why Handmade Matters
In a world of mass production, handmade pottery brings us back to what’s real.
Each piece carries the weight of the material, the mark of the hand, and the rhythm of its making. These are objects meant to be used — and felt — every day.

Custom Commissions
Pottery made to mark a moment, tell a story, or fit your daily rhythm.
From one-of-a-kind gifts to pieces designed for personal ritual or home, I take on a limited number of custom commissions each season to ensure each piece receives the time and attention it deserves.
I work closely with each client to shape work that reflects their vision — whether it’s a set of mugs for a cabin by the sea, bowls for a family table, or a personal piece to mark a milestone.
Custom work is built by hand in small batches. No two pieces are exactly alike — each is meant to carry a sense of place, craft, and presence.
Lead Time:
Each custom piece is made by hand, one at a time. Please allow 4–8 weeks for most commissions, depending on the size and scope of the project. I’ll confirm timing when we discuss your order.
If you’d like to start a conversation about a custom piece, I’d love to hear from you.
